Child of God

He's got the whole world in His hands!

“We present you with this Book, the most valuable thing that this world affords.”

Hello again. Happy Jubilee Day! The above quotation was from the Bishop of Canterbury, when presenting Queen Elizabeth with a Bible at her Coronation on 2 June 1953. Our Queen makes no secret of the fact that she is a Christian.

God created the world and that includes you and me! At first, everything was good, exactly as God made it, but now we all make wrong choices and commit wrong actions. We live in God’s world but go our own way. We fail to live up to God’s standards and so we’re guilty. The Bible calls this sin, and our sin separates us from God.

People try to find their way to God in many ways, but their efforts all fail, as our sin is a barrier between us and God.

God loves you very much and wants you to love Him in return. You’re here because of His love and desire for a personal relationship with you. What we can’t do by our own efforts, God’s Son Jesus did by coming to Earth to die on the cross for us. He took the punishment for our sin and so Jesus became the way between God the Father and us.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

God proved that He accepted Jesus’s death as the way to life by raising Him from the dead. So, Jesus Christ is the only way for us to reach the Father.

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” (John 3:36)

If we don’t find our way to God through Jesus, we will never know God personally and your life will have no lasting value. When we die, we will be separated from God forever. 😥

But if we accept Jesus as our Saviour, we will have a personal relationship with God and live with Him forever.😀

“Whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgement, but has passed from death to life.” (John 5:24)

Three steps to God:

1. Admit you’re a sinner and turn away from sin.

2. Believe that when Jesus died on the cross, He took the punishment for all your sin, and that He rose to life again.

3. Receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

“To all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)

Lord Jesus

Thank you for showing me how much I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for me. Please forgive all my failures and the sins of my past. Make clean and help me start fresh with You. I now receive You into my life as my Lord and Saviour. Help me to love You and serve You with all my heart.

“Whoever comes to me I will never cast out.” (John 6:37)

“God sent into the world a unique person – neither a philosopher nor a general (important though they are) – but a Saviour, with the power to forgive. Forgiveness lies at the heart of the Christian faith. It can heal broken families, it can restore friendships and it can reconcile divided communities. It is in forgiveness that we the power of God’s love.”
